ACTS Clubhouse Celebrates Two Years of Community, Growth, and Recovery
This November marks two years since ACTS Clubhouse first opened its doors in Tampa — two years of building community, fostering hope, and supporting recovery through meaningful work and connection. Since opening, the Clubhouse has become a vital space where members can develop skills, build confidence, and support one another on their journey to wellness.
At ACTS Clubhouse, recovery is built on community. Members and staff work side by side in a collaborative environment, participating in daily operations such as meal preparation, clerical work, wellness activities, and employment readiness programs. Each day offers opportunities for growth, learning, and empowerment — and for members to rediscover purpose and belonging.
Member Gary shared, “I love coming to the ACTS Clubhouse. It provides a safe space out of isolation and good fellowship.”
Member Ashley said, “I like coming to the ACTS Clubhouse because it keeps me busy and I’m learning new things.”
Member Jerry added, “We are rebuilding lives at the All Comes To Shine Clubhouse.”
These reflections capture the spirit of ACTS Clubhouse – a place where connection, purpose, and growth help individuals shine as they rebuild their lives.
To celebrate this milestone, ACTS Clubhouse is hosting an Open House on Thursday, November 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Community partners, supporters, and anyone interested in learning more about the Clubhouse model are invited to attend. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the space, meet members and staff, and see firsthand how ACTS Clubhouse helps transform lives through connection and recovery.
We’re proud of all that’s been accomplished in just two years and look forward to the continued growth of this vibrant community. Here’s to many more years of success, hope, and recovery at ACTS Clubhouse!
ACTS Clubhouse is located at 201 E. Yukon Street, Tampa, FL 33604

Managing Stress and Substance Use
Tips for National Stress Awareness Month
November is National Stress Awareness Month, a time to recognize the impact stress can have on our physical and mental health. Stress is a normal part of life, but when left unmanaged, it can contribute to unhealthy coping behaviors, including increased substance use.
At ACTS, we understand that stress and substance use are closely connected. People often turn to alcohol, drugs, or other substances to manage overwhelming feelings—but these can create more challenges in the long run. Recognizing stress and developing healthy coping strategies is key to maintaining recovery and overall well-being.
Signs stress may be affecting your recovery:
- Feeling irritable, anxious, or overwhelmed
- Trouble sleeping or changes in appetite
- Increased cravings for substances
- Difficulty focusing or making decisions
Healthy ways to manage stress:
- Mindful movement: Gentle exercise, yoga, or stretching can help release tension.
- Structured routines: Regular sleep, meals, and activity schedules reduce stress triggers.
- Support networks: Reach out to trusted friends, family, or support groups.
- Mindfulness and relaxation: Breathing exercises, meditation, or journaling can help calm the mind.
- Professional support: Programs like ACTS Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and counseling can provide guidance and tools to navigate stress without relying on substances.
Remember, stress is a part of life, but it doesn’t have to control you. By building awareness and using healthy coping strategies, you can strengthen your resilience and support your recovery journey.
ACTS is here to help. If you or someone you know is struggling with stress and substance use, our programs in Tampa are designed to provide compassionate care and support for lasting recovery. Call us at 813.246.4899 for more information or to get started.
