April is National Stress Awareness Month

Apr 21, 2025

Let’s Talk About It

At ACTS, we believe in supporting the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. During National Stress Awareness Month, we’re taking time to acknowledge something we all experience but don’t always talk about: stress.

Whether it’s caused by work, relationships, health, finances, or the constant hustle of everyday life, stress can creep in and take a toll on our well-being. And while a little stress can sometimes be motivating, too much for too long can lead to burnout, anxiety, or other serious health concerns.

The good news? You’re not alone – and support is always available.

What Stress Can Look Like

Stress doesn’t always show up the same way for everyone. It might look like:

  • Trouble sleeping
  • Feeling irritable or overwhelmed
  • Headaches or fatigue
  • Changes in appetite
  • Difficulty concentrating

At ACTS, our programs are designed to help people navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re dealing with mental health concerns, substance use, housing instability, or just looking for a supportive community, we’re here for you.

Simple Ways to Manage Stress

Here are a few strategies we encourage:

  • Connect with others. A listening ear can go a long way. Our Clubhouse and peer support programs offer spaces to build community and share openly.
  • Breathe. Just a few deep breaths can calm the nervous system.
  • Take a break. Even five minutes to step outside, stretch, or enjoy something you love can be a reset.
  • Ask for help. There’s strength in reaching out – whether to a friend, therapist, or ACTS staff member.

You Deserve Peace

Stress may be a part of life, but it doesn’t have to take over. This month and every month, ACTS is committed to supporting our community with compassion and care. If you or someone you know is struggling, we’re here – and we’re ready to help.

Take a moment to check in with yourself today. You matter. Your mental health matters. And you are not alone.
