Honoring Caregivers: Supporting Those Who Support Others

Feb 16, 2026

Each year, National Caregivers Day – observed on the third Friday of February – recognizes the individuals who provide care, support, and advocacy for loved ones facing substance use or mental health challenges. Caregivers play a vital role in recovery, offering encouragement, stability, and hope during difficult times.

At ACTS, we recognize that caregivers are essential partners in the healing process – and they need support, too.

The Role of Caregivers in Recovery

Caregivers may be family, friends, or chosen supporters who help navigate appointments, housing, treatment decisions, and daily responsibilities. While their dedication makes a meaningful difference, caregiving can also be emotionally and physically demanding.

Supporting someone with substance use or mental health challenges often comes with stress, fatigue, and uncertainty. Prioritizing their own well-being is essential – when caregivers are supported, everyone benefits.

How ACTS Supports Caregivers and Families

ACTS provides whole-person, integrated care that includes families and caregivers. Our services help reduce the burden by offering:

  • Substance use and mental health treatment
  • Care coordination and case management
  • Peer support and recovery-focused activities
  • Community-based services promoting independence and stability

By surrounding individuals with a network of professional and peer support, caregivers feel less alone and more confident in the recovery process.

Recognizing Caregivers This National Caregivers Day

We thank caregivers for their compassion, resilience, and commitment. Your support matters—and so does your well-being.
